Flamingo
The Flamingo {fluh-ming'-goh} is a large wading
bird with a very long neck and legs. He has an abruptly turned-down bill, and an
unfeathered face. Flamingos can be found in Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, and the
Caribbean. Flamingos can be white, pinkish white, or vermilion. They have black flight
feathers and stand 3 to 5 feet tall. There are 4 to 6 living species and 14 extinct
species of flamingos.
