Sunday, October 2, 1995 Dear
Sampson,
What a pretty weekend -- wish we'd have lots more just like this! Got a little
bit of rain yesterday, then it cleared off. Our humans open those windows when it is nice
and we REALLY like that!
We gotta admit -- You are purrrrfect to be the headcat guru of the Internet! Our
human told us all about your new venture. We told all our jellicle friends about your
column and they are hoping to check it out one day soon (wish our humans would be
civilized and get updated with some of that Internet stuff).
Having your very own column must be very rewarding (like, maybe you get an extra
bowlful of tuna every day or something like that?). And after all, it probably will take
many delicacies just to keep those creative musings coming! Oh, by the way, which big name
will be doing your fur, whiskers and make-up each day??? Watch out for the "blow dry
frizzies"!
No doubt about it, you'll be looking like the "cat's pajamas" in those
designer bandanas. Hopefully you won't get such a big head that you can't wear them
anymore!?
Try to demonstrate great patience when that human has trouble getting all your
ideas, meows, and tail flicks down on paper just like you'd like. She'll probably be
trying very hard, but you know humans seem to lack the intelligence to figure us out.
Your column will, of course, be a great success and your fan club will become
even larger. Eventually you may even need to resort to disguises on your sailing trips,
neighborhood inspections, etc. -- just to prevent immense, pushy crowds from forming and
creating absurd disturbances that are so typically human! You might even consider using a
rubber signature stamp when signing all those autographs rather than taking a chance on
carpal tunnel paw syndrome!
Well, we need to take another window nap before our humans decide to close
everything up again. We'll continue to monitor your progress (and success) by listening to
our humans -- and, you be sure and let us know the dates of your appearances on Leno, Good
Morning America, Oprah, etc.
Here's to your new career!!!
